Operation Troy Suffolk Trading Standards

Operation Troy is a lengthy international investigation by Suffolk Trading Standards and supported by Suffolk Constabulary. In regards to two advance fee frauds that have netted an estimated £6 million and 15,000 victims have already been identified.

One of the frauds is an employment scam involving escort agencies, which offers the chance of high earnings. The victims are told they are no fees until the first job and that there are clients waiting.
A few days later, they are asked for registration fees between £219-£350 but the victim never hears from the company again.

The other fraud involves a debt elimination company cold calling people and promising to clear their debt. Individuals pay £400-£500 for the service but receive nothing in return.

I’m trying to track down the relevant person and/or department we can speak to and potentially interview for a documentary which involves uncovering scam escort agencies? It is lead by our Presenter who has also fallen victim to Candy Escort’s agency recently and will be broadcast on Current TV later this year.

Who is the best person to speak with?

Thank you in advance for your help

    • Hi Selina,

I’ve passed on your email address to my colleauges in Suffolk Trading Standards to see what we can do. As you can imagine as we’re in the middle of the case we are limited about what we can say. But if you wany some more general information on scam escort agencies we might be able to do something. If you need anymore information post to the blog again and we’ll try and help.

I was a victim of this fraud by the companies called Companion work and pertneru.com back in the end of 2009. I was in touch with Steve Riggott then. He asked me the details like a written documentary and few other details. It would be a great help if you can pass this message to him or who ever is dealing with this case. Last I spoke him in 2011 and he said you guys are almost done with the case and have the subjects in the custody. He also said that i will get my money back soon. But i lost his email address and couldnt contact him since then. Waiting for your reply.
