Recall: Kettle Crisps

The following notice has been issued by the manufacturer.
Product Recall
KETTLE® Chips Lightly Salted 150g (this affected product was sold through Asda Stores

only), KETTLE® Chips Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar 40g, KETTLE® Chips Mature Cheddar & Red Onion 40g, KETTLE® Chips Lightly Salted Multipack (5 x 30g), KETTLE® Chips Lightly Salted 30g (this affected product is only available as a complimentary product and available only on certain trains) – all with a best before of 28th May 2016 – are being recalled as a very small number of packs may contain small plastic pieces.

It is believed that only a very small number of packs may be affected but customers are advised to check if they have the crisps identified showing the above best before date, and if they do, to send them back to us at KETTLE® Chips for a full refund.

Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to KETTLE® Chips and we take any issue concerning our product very seriously. We pride ourselves on outstanding quality and are currently investigating the situation internally.

1) What has happened?

KETTLE® Chips is issuing a product recall notice on its KETTLE® Chips Lightly Salted 150g (this affected product was sold through Asda Stores only), KETTLE® Chips Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar 40g, KETTLE® Chips Mature Cheddar & Red Onion 40g, KETTLE® Chips Lightly Salted Multipack (5 x 30g), KETTLE® Chips Lightly Salted 30g (this affected product is only available as a complimentary product and available only on certain trains) – all with a best before of 28th May 2016 – as a very small number of packs may contain small plastic pieces.

2) How many packs are affected?

We believe only a very small number of packs have been affected.

3) What should customers be looking out for?

The plastic pieces look similar to the crisps themselves and are about the size of a 10p piece. We ask customers not to eat the crisps but to dispose of them and return the empty packaging to us at – Kettle Foods Ltd, Barnard Road, Norwich NR5 9JP

4) What should customers do if they have found a bit of plastic in one of our bags?

In the very unlikely situation, simply throw away the crisps and return the bit of plastic and the empty bag to – Kettle Foods Ltd, Barnard Road, Norwich NR5 9JP

5) What should customers do if they are worried?

6) Could there be any health risk if I have eaten the plastic?

No, we do not believe it to be harmful

7) What should customers do if they think they have eaten some of the plastic?

We do not believe the plastic to be harmful but if you are worried, please consult your doctor

8) What about if I have a packet at home but haven’t opened them yet?

Check the bag is one of the five varieties we have identified and that the best before date is 28 May 2016 and if it has this identification simply dispose of the contents and send the empty packet back to us and you will receive a full refund.
